Institutional And Engineering Controls Data

The Institutional and Engineering Controls Summary provides a listing of all RCRA sites with Institutional and/or Engineering Controls in place. Institutional Controls (IC) are defined as non-engineered and/or legal controls that minimize the potential human exposure to contamination by limiting land or resource use. Whereas, Engineering Controls (EC) consist of engineering measures (e.g, caps, treatment systems, etc.) designed to minimize the potential for human exposure to contamination by either limiting direct contact with contaminated areas or controlling migration of contaminants through environmental media.

The report shows the Site ID, Site Name, Location Address, Location County, Contact Name and Phone Number for each site the has IC and/or EC in place. If the site has IC in place, the report also shows all of the CA772 events associated with the site and the actual date the event occurred. Similarly, if the site has EC in place, the report will show all of the CA770 events associated with the site and the actual date the event occurred. If the site has terminated their IC and EC indicated by the CA782/CA780 events respectively, the site will not be reported as it no longer has controls in place.

Optionally, you may also elect to show GIS coordinate information for the site. Multiple coordinates may be associated with a site. If multiple coordinates exist, the coordinates will be reported with each IC and/or EC event. That is, a single event may be reported multiple times (once for each latitude/longitude coordinate pair).

To produce the report, select the location and the Report Type, then click "Submit". Note: If you select "National", the summary information will be presented for all 58 States and Territories. If you select a Region, the summary information will be presented for the States and Territories in that Region.
